Sunreef Yachts Eco 60 is designed to be eco-friendly and sustainable
The new, 60-foot-long Power Eco catamaran from Sunreef Yachts is remarkable for several reasons. The most noticeable may be the fact that the hull and deck is covered with high tech solar panels that help it achieve maximum energy efficiency. In fact, Sunreef Yachts produce their solar panels in-house and use proprietary technology to integrate them within structural components to maximize green energy generation.
But proprietary solar panels are only the beginning. Sunreef’s Eco line of luxury power and sailing catamarans also feature electric propulsion systems that deliver significant fuel savings, low-maintenance and silent operation.
Sunreef Yachts Eco 60 is clad in solar cells.
Sunreef’s catamarans are adapted to electric motoring thanks to advanced computer simulation that allows engineers to fine tune the hydrodynamics and aerodynamics for maximum efficiency. The lithium battery banks on board are light placed to minimize the impact on the yachts’ performance. And the solar panel system is reportedly the world’s lightest. But when it comes to the pure sustainability, the innovative, all- natural materials Sunreef use to build their hulls and decks may represent a quantum leap forward.
Sustainability on a yacht can be sexy too.
