Huge new UK holiday park to hit the North – developers claim it could rival Centre Parcs

huge new uk holiday park to hit the north developers claim it could rival centre parcs

UK holidays enjoyed a wonderful summer after the bleak months of the spring lockdown. Amid international travel restrictions and concerns relating to the pandemic, many Britons switched their foreign escape to one right here at home.

Now, staycation enthusiasts may have another UK destination to add to the list if an ongoing planning application is approved.

The new holiday park, already being dubbed “Centre Parcs-on-sea” by its developers, promises a mix of holiday lodges and a hotel boasting 148 bedrooms to accommodate for all types of traveller.

While the park is no relation to Centre Parcs, it is a similar concept, comprised of 250 eco-lodges, a hotel, a lake for water sports and two leisure units.

The 57-acre site will also house a petrol station and a Lidl food store.

An array of food will also be on offer, with a large food hall with up to 25 different culinary outlets.

Each of the eco-cabins will be a modern twist on traditional holiday cabins, promising open-plan spaces, loft suites and their own private terraces.

Though the project is still in the planning stages, with the first application submitted in August, should everything run smoothly some of the first lodges are anticipated to open their doors in time for Spring 2022.

The project is being headed up by development duo Adrian Smith and Ming Yeung whose shared vision could “attract thousands of visitors and bring hundreds of jobs”.

“We estimate it will attract £13.2m of new visitor expenditure per annum,” said Mr Smith.
